Fracking Chemicals Showing up in Blood Testing, Get you family's blood tested
What we are offering? We are working with the esteeemd to Dr. John Hughes to offer very low cost blood testing that is done through urine sampling for people that live in areas in close proximity to fracking. These tests will give people information about if and how fracking is impacting their families so that they may be become proactive about preventing further exposure and or taking steps toward holding the Oil and Gas industry accountable.
Why are we offering blood testing? There are over 51,000 fracking wells in Colorado, most of which have been drilled in the last five years. During the process of fracking, up to 600 chemicals are used in the fracking fluid. During and after the process of fracking, wells leak and burn off significant amounts of toxic chemicals into the air. People who live near fracking, particularly those living in high density areas, are exposed to these toxic chemicals and become vulnerable to a variety of health impacts including cancer, neurological disorders, rashes, nose bleeds, gastrointestinal problems and more. We feel that it is the right of every person to know what is in their blood and in their families blood. We hope to empower impacted Coloradans with this information so that they may make informed decisions about their future.
What Chemicals will we test for? These toxic chemicals include know carcinogens like benzene, toluene, toluene, xylene and ethylbenzene.
